1Million Teachers/ Girl Rising / HP – Mentor a Teacher (MAT) 1.0, 2.0, 3.0
In commemoration of International Day of the Girl 2021, HP has launched its new Mentor-a-Teacher program. The initiative brings together the complete education network to empower educators to develop new learning methods for pupils. This unique initiative is part of HP’s Partnership and Technology for Humanity (PATH), a program to pave the way toward digital equity for underserved communities around the world – focusing on education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. Earlier this year HP committed to accelerate digital equity for 150 million people by 2030.
Supply Chain Africa
Supply Chain Africa, one of the leading digital platforms, has been advancing African supply chains and making business easier on the continent. Connecting Africa’s supply chain to the rest of the world has been the drive for SCA. Founded by Adebayo Adeleke, a US veteran, Supply Chain Africa serves as a news hub and the ultimate African-focused supply chain resource and community. In 2022, Emmanuel Asika participated in the maiden Supply Chain Africa Magazine discussing learnings from the COVID disruption on how Africa can leverage the opportunities presented.
Grand Africa Initiative
Grand Africa Initiative is a Pan-African non-governmental organisation focussed on raising youths ages 15-35 to develop and harness their unique ideas for success in education, entrepreneurship innovation and employment. In October 2022, Emmanuel Asika, alongside Obinna Tochukwu Iyiegbu (Obi Cubana), Eric Nges of J.P Morgan (Germany), and Ehia Erhaboh of Interswitch, was a guest at the GAIN Youth Summit themed; Youth Activation: Leveraging Innovation and Technology. At this event he interacted with youths and Industry experts across Africa, making a case for Digital and Tech Inclusion as an imperative for Africa’s development.

Edo Innovates
The Edo Innovation Hub simply referred to as Edo Innovates, is a youth empowerment initiative and Edo’s State’s first technology hub to bring young people in ICT together to access opportunities in ICT training. The hub bears testament to the steady evolution of the state into the epicentre of all things technological and creative. At the tech hub, there are infrastructural, digital, human, and social resources that equip young people with the requisite digital skills for a competitive advantage in the global ICT market. Emmanuel Asika was a panellist at the Edo Innovates Tech Conference alongside Joshua Chibueze, and Princess Edo Osagie where he led the conversation on “what is needed to grow investment in Africa and to nurture the wealth of talent and potential?”. The session ended with the empowerment of two young people with laptops to help facilitate their tech journeys – buttressing the mantra, “Empowering the future, one device at a time.”

Emmanuel is a constant feature in FI Lagos where he is regularly leveraging his industry experience to steer founders in the right direction.

Community Innovation Hub
The Community Innovation Hub is a platform that acts locally to make change globally. It is a place where changemakers gather and support each other in the important work of making a difference in society, fleshing out their ideas, connecting with other like-minded individuals and forming relationships of trust, accountability, learning and support. They empower preteens and teens with skills such as robotics, STEM education, digital literacy, leadership innovation, drone piloting, et cetera, for them to become developers and problem solvers relevant in the 21st century age. With stories of teenagers like Sheila who got a fully funded scholarship to study in Rwanda, the Community Innovation Hub is creating opportunities for people to upscale quietly. Emmanuel Asika has partnered with the hub on different occasions with many more collaborations still in the offing.
Slum2school
Slum2school has transformed the society by being a vehicle for the empowerment of underserved children in remote communities with education, entrepreneurship skills and psychosocial support to enable them to blend with others in the society thereby realising their full potential.
Africa has not realised her full potential in the educational sector and as such few shortcomings exist. In this regard, Slum2school is committed to transforming the lives of Africa’s most precious resources – her children.
From educational scholarships to 21st-century pedagogy to safe learning spaces for development, Slum2School is fervent in the advancement of SDG4.
