“Africa of our dreams will be the consequence of the gains we make in Education and Digital Inclusion.”

– Manny Asika

About

Two simple concepts are dear to my heart and as far as I can remember have been at the core of my perspective and outlook to life.

Contribution & Collaboration, The Why

Contribution is not just a social responsibility, but fundamental to our survival and perpetuation as a species. Whatever progress we have made as a people is as a direct result of the contributions, mistakes, learnings and improvements of those that have come before us. The journey to electricity for example began with fire sparks, horses, windmills, the industrial revolution and possibly Benjamin Franklin in 1752.

Each discovery, each improvement inexorably connected to the next. And this typifies human history and advancement and is powerfully captured in the Ubuntu African tradition. Today we owe a responsibility to share, probably not groundbreaking inventions or patents, but at the very least our – Time, Stories, Perspectives, Frameworks for success & Practical tools and devices.

So that ultimately, the quest for a better and more progressive society is intentional, shared and systematically propagated.

Collaboration is linked to the African DNA of community. An acknowledgment that destiny is collective, and you cannot better society or scale change alone.

Bringing this home, there are glaring needs on the continent. And everywhere you look there are challenges and opportunities to execute on the concepts of Contribution and Collaboration.

A critical place to start is Education and Digital Literacy. Africa of our dreams will be a consequence of the gains we make in Education and Digital inclusion.

As we become soldiers at arms with scores of individuals and organizations that prioritize the Edu-tech revolution on the continent, we will continue to scale change one person at a time.

How do we operationalize this?

– Free Content and trainings on Life & Career skills, focused on tech. (Single Click Academy)

– Conversations around tech and education (Mannyville live series)

– Collaborations with Community/Society developers (focused on Nigeria & the continent)

– Digital Equity on the foundations of

    1. Devices (tools)
    2. Internet (access)
    3. Digital Literacy (skills)

– Mentorship boot camps and programs
